Wireless Lan Association (WLANA) ANNOUNCES NO WIRES NEEDED AS NEW MEMBER

No Wires Needed commits to WLANA's wireless industry educational effort

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA., September 20, 1999 — The Wireless LAN Association (WLANA), a trade association for the wireless local area and personal area networking industry, announced today that No Wires Needed, headquartered in The Netherlands, has joined WLANA.

"The Wireless LAN Association welcomes No Wires Needed," said Greg DiCillo, managing director of WLANA. "WLANA is responding to a tremendous increase in interest in wireless LANs and wireless PANs in the enterprise, small business and home markets. No Wires Needed's commitment to the wireless LAN industry and their enthusiasm for our mission strengthens the Alliance's ability to provide ongoing education about applications, technologies and trends in the wireless industry."

About No Wires Needed
Headquartered in Bilthoven, The Netherlands, and founded in 1994, No Wires Needed (NWN) is a leader in high-speed, IEEE 802.11-based wireless LAN technology and products NWN is the first vendor to ship an 11 Mbps WLAN product that implements all IEEE 802.11 mandatory features including WEP security. In 1998, the company was the first vendor to ship a 5.5 Mbps product based on the IEEE 802.11 standard.

The Wireless LAN Association is a non-profit educational trade association, comprised of leading local area wireless technology vendors.
